Penticton’s Face of Bakery, Jasel Peters, isn’t just the smiling face you see when you enter COBS Bread. He is a family man, a charitable source for the community and a happy husband who enjoys spending an evening in with his wife, incorporating great sides and combinations of cheese to their beloved COBS Bread.
A love story of bread and business began when Jasel met his future wife, Nicole, whom he shared a passion for cooking and dining on fine foods.
Their immediate connection paired together as well as COBS infamous rosemary and sea salt focaccia does with a piece of Pecorino and a glass of big bold red wine — perfect.
This blissful connection lead the newly wedded love birds down the path that many entrepreneurs find themselves on, searching for the perfect placement to disperse their skills and shared passions. That’s when they came across COBS Bread.
“We knew immediately that this was an ideal fit for our passion to create, share and enjoy handcrafted products,” said Jasel.

To this day, their favourite date night is whenever they have an evening in, Jasel and Nicole stand behind their kitchen island playfully handcrafting a new appetizer or meal while simply enjoying their time together.
They love each other and they love what they do.
“It has been a lot of work and dedication to get to where we are today with COBS,” said Jasel. “Ten years later we are proud to own three stores in the Okanagan where we can share the love by donating products towards local charities and school breakfast and lunch programs.”

Together, they’ve come a long way and their amazing staff has been with them through it all.
“My husband is the ‘face of bakery’ and why I can say this, is because when you walk into our bakery and see his smiling face, along with his calm demeanour greeting a customer or talking to the staff, you just know he is the ‘bakery’,” Nicole exclaimed with immense pride. “This man works his buns off for our family.”
